Paw-some Event at the Palace is back for 2022

Hot on the heels of the news that Perth and Kinross is officially Scotland’s most pet-friendly holiday destination, Scone Palace is delighted to announce that its paw-some dog friendly event, Paws at the Palace, is back this year with added bark and will be taking place on 4 September 2022.

One of Scotland’s favourite visitor attractions, Scone Palace is inviting dog owners and their four-legged friends to the exclusive summer event which has become a must attend event for dog lovers in Perthshire and beyond.

Paws at the Palace will feature doggy fun and games, parades of different breeds, agility classes and some paw-some demonstrations. The all-day event will also include food stalls (for dogs and humans), cool-down areas, and a host of stall holders selling doggy gear and gifts.

According to data from Booking.com, Perth and Kinross is the best location in Scotland to take furry friends away on holiday, with the county receiving the highest rated reviews from dog owners on the platform at 85.3%*. As one of Perth’s most popular visitor attractions, Scone Palace is the perfect destination for dog walkers with its extensive grounds. The Palace’s Old Kitchen Coffee Shop is even open to dogs during the winter months, providing a dog friendly environment to enjoy a scone and coffee and doggie treats for canine friends at the end of the walk.

Last year’s event was an incredible success due to the easing of covid-19 restrictions, and the pent-up desire from dog owners to meet with fellow dog lovers. Organisers at the Palace expect this year’s event to be just as popular. Heather McArthur, Head of Events at Scone Palace, said:

“The news that Perth and Kinross is officially the most pet-friendly holiday destination in Scotland is not a surprise, given that we’re a region that loves dogs and therefore caters as well as we can for them. Last year’s event was a tremendous success as owners were absolutely delighted to be meeting up with fellow dog lovers after what had been a really challenging time. Paws at the Palace is an event especially geared up for and targeted at dog owners and their furry friends, giving them both an opportunity to receive the royal treatment, mingle with likeminded folk, and take part in some fun activities whilst enjoying our beautiful grounds.”

Visitors to the event will be charged admission to the Palace grounds. Tickets are available at: https://www.scone-palace.co.uk/event/paws-at-the-palace
