Grieg Seafood

Grieg Seafood Shetland were the largest Scottish salmon farmer in Shetland. Cunningly Good Communications was tasked with working with the senior management team to identify and prepare strategic and considered responses for a range of scenarios, and to develop a communications plan.

Key deliverables included high level media training the senior management team, developing a full risk register and assisting the company in preparing a reputation enhancing crisis response. We developed a communications procedure which was rolled out across all Grieg Seafood UK sites, and a bank of pre-drafted statements that enabled the company to respond quickly to any operational incidents.

We supported their strategic communications activity including during a Scottish Parliament Enquiry into the Scottish Salmon industry, and an EU investigation into all Norwegian owned, UK based, salmon producers to explore possible anti-competitive behaviour. During this time we worked closely with the corporate communications team based in Norway, advising them on UK based media requirements and providing editing services in English mother tongue.

Other activities included internal comunications, advertising design and general advice and counsel on communications.
