The Enchanted Forest shortlisted for Scottish Thistle Awards
Scotland’s favourite sound and light show, The Enchanted Forest, has been shortlisted at this year’s Scottish Thistle Regional Awards in both the Outstanding Cultural Event or Festival and Inclusion categories.
The trailblazing event, which runs annually in the autumn at the beautiful Faskally Wood in Pitlochry, attracting over 85,000 visitors, is able to deliver an incredible shot in the arm to the local tourism economy in Highland Perthshire of £10.38 million annually.
These nominations shine a spotlight on both the creative brilliance of the event and the charitable heart behind it. The Outstanding Cultural Event or Festival award aims to celebrate and recognise outstanding cultural events and festivals that are part of Scotland’s tourism offering, and which demonstrate creativity, innovation and the delivery of unique, excellent experiences.
The Inclusion award recognises events which have demonstrated a strong commitment to inclusivity and serving diverse customer groups. From expanding autism friendly sessions to launching a fully accessible booking platform for wheelchair users, the team behind The Enchanted Forest has worked tirelessly to ensure the magic is shared by all.
The Scottish Thistle awards showcase the very best of Scotland’s tourism sector, helping to ensure that tourism, and the individuals who work in the industry are recognised for the positive impact they bring to the country and communities.
Nela Popovic, CEO of The Enchanted Forest Community Trust, said: “To be recognised in both of these categories is such an honour. At its heart, The Enchanted Forest is about connection, between people, place and nature. These nominations are a reflection of the passionate work our team and partners do to ensure the event is as inclusive and impactful as it is awe-inspiring. We’re incredibly proud of the way our creativity brings communities together, supports vital causes, and welcomes people of all backgrounds into the magic of The Enchanted Forest.”
