Our Cunningly Good Coverage Roundup
August 2026

August delivered another strong month of media results for three of our clients, with stories spanning tourism, culture, leisure and business securing coverage across national, regional and specialist media.

Across the month, 32 pieces of coverage generated an estimated 538,000 views, with a combined potential audience of 73.9 million and 651 social engagements. Digital coverage achieved an average domain authority of 59, reflecting the quality of the online publications carrying client stories.

One of the month’s standout campaigns centred on Falkirk Council leisure and culture services and The Hippodrome Bo’ness. Scotland’s oldest purpose-built cinema called on film fans to support its bid to become BIFA Cinema of the Year. The story secured national exposure through The Herald, with the digital article generating an estimated 5,740 views. Further online coverage appeared in the Falkirk Herald, Urban Realm and international Scottish community newspaper The Scottish Banner.

There was also significant exposure for Falkirk’s visitor offering. BBC Radio Scotland’s Out of Doors programme, with a reported listenership of 288,000, provided a major broadcast opportunity for Callendar House, while the accompanying BBC Sounds listing recorded an estimated 478,000 views.  Social content added another dimension, with creator Alex sharing a family day at The Kelpies, generating 2,600 TikTok plays, while Emma Harvey’s Callendar House content achieved an estimated 5,710 Instagram views and 223 engagements.

Elsewhere, an Xcite (West Lothian leisure) response to proposed changes affecting private swimming instructors generated sustained regional media interest. Coverage appeared in Edinburgh Live, Edinburgh News, The Edinburgh Reporter and Midlothian View. The latter recorded an estimated 7,710 views, while Edinburgh Live generated an estimated 6,460.  The story was also supported by social coverage, including a West Lothian News Facebook Reel which generated 268 engagements.

We also secured coverage for Inverness based IT Consultancy, WePurpose Technology, in the Highlands. Having entered them into the Prosper Highlands and Islands Business Excellence Awards, coverage appeared on their shortlisting in the Inverness Courier and the Northern Times. Meanwhile a separate client story about founder David Massey’s work creating employment opportunities for young people secured a feature in The Herald, with an estimated 5,020 views.

August also brought valuable print-only coverage, including features in People’s Friend, Best and The Sunday Post, as well as The Herald and Edinburgh Evening News. These successes form an important part of the month’s results, but the print articles and imagery are deliberately not reproduced or linked here for copyright reasons.
