Our Cunningly Good Coverage Roundup
July 2026
July was a strong month for two of our communications clients, with coverage spanning national media, broadcast, regional news, consumer titles and social channels. In total 27 pieces of coverage delivered an estimated 834,000 views, a combined publication audience of 175 million and 147 social engagements. Digital coverage achieved an average domain authority of 68, reflecting the strength of the outlets reached.
For Falkirk Council, a major highlight was national travel coverage showcasing Falkirk as a destination full of unexpected experiences. The National’s online feature, Falkirk proves to be a town of constant surprises for a traveller, generated an estimated 7,460 views, taking Falkirk’s tourism story to a significant national audience.
Broadcast delivered another standout win. Callendar House featured on STV’s What’s on Scotland, putting the attraction in front of an audience of 220K, with the segment also available through STV Player.
Meanwhile, Callendar Park featured on BBC Radio Scotland’s Out of Doors, which has a reported listenership of 288,000. The BBC programme page generated an estimated 426,000 views, making this one of the biggest digital opportunities of the month.
Falkirk’s cultural programme also gained traction. The Hippodrome’s interactive murder mystery secured Falkirk Herald coverage and a listing with The List. An award-winning folk guitarist performing in Bo’ness also secured coverage that was syndicated by MSN, generating an estimated 375,000 views.
For Xcite (West Lothian Leisure), July brought important coverage around the future of its Xcite facilities, using information from a press release issued earlier on in the year on the charity’s Impact Report 2024/25. Confirmation of another year of council funding was covered by Edinburgh Live, generating an estimated 5,350 views. The story also appeared in The Edinburgh Reporter and Midlothian View, where it achieved an estimated 8,800 views.
Print was another important part of July’s success, with coverage appearing in titles including People’s Friend, The Sunday National, The National, Scots Magazine, The Sunday Post, My Weekly, The List and West Lothian Courier. We’d love to show you all of these, but no print articles, scans or imagery are reproduced here for copyright reasons.
Overall, July delivered strong outcomes for both clients: raising Falkirk’s profile as a cultural and visitor destination while securing positive, high-visibility coverage around Xcite’s (West Lothian Leisure) facilities and their continued funding.
