Our Cunningly Good Coverage Roundup
Falkirk Council Leisure & Culture
Eight months, 120 stories
Between February and September 2026, we helped put Falkirk Council’s leisure and culture venues in front of a combined audience of 220 million. The campaign delivered 120 pieces of coverage across national news, broadcast, magazines, travel sites and social media, with an estimated 2.47 million views.
Quality matched quantity. 99% of coverage carried a clearly positive tone, brand prominence averaged 72 out of 100, and online coverage landed on sites with an average domain authority of 65. Broadcast alone reached a TV audience of 220K and 576K radio listeners.
The standout wins
A BAFTA moment for the Hippodrome. When I Swear won at the BAFTAs, we made sure Scotland’s oldest purpose-built cinema shared the spotlight. The Bo’ness Hippodrome’s starring role was picked up by the Daily Record, Condé Nast Traveller, Scottish Field and Ground News, which alone carried an estimated 48,600 views.
A cinema worth voting for. The Hippodrome’s bid for BIFA Cinema of the Year ran in The Herald, the Falkirk Herald, Urban Realm and The Scottish Banner, reaching readers at home and Scots overseas.
Prime time and the airwaves. STV’s What’s on Scotland featured Callendar House in front of a 220K audience. BBC Radio Scotland’s Out of Doors visited Callendar Park, and Radio Scotland Breakfast interviewed Falkirk Council’s Senior Events Officer, Lynsey Gow, about the Falkirk Science Fair.
Falkirk as a destination. National titles made the case for the town. The Herald ran six reasons to visit Falkirk and argued it was worth a proper stop, while The National called it a town of constant surprises. Falkirk also featured in Metro’s best free UK attractions and The Sun’s budget half-term ideas.
Food, film, and music. The Scotsman interviewed chocolatier Nadia Williams on pairing chocolates with film at The Hippodrome Bo’ness; blogger and influencer TartanSpoon reviewed afternoon tea at Callendar House, and MSN syndicated a Bo’ness gig preview to an estimated 375,000 readers.
Creators who brought it to life. Family creators Emma Harvey and Alex shared days out at Callendar House and The Kelpies, with Emma’s reel drawing 223 engagements. Travel writer Robin McKelvie added 9 reasons to head to the Falkirk area on InsiderScotland.
Strong in print too
Print delivered steady, high-trust coverage all year, with features in The People’s Friend, The Sunday Post, The Herald, The National, Scots Magazine, Scottish Field, Best, My Weekly and The List. Highlights included People’s Friend profiles of a day in the life of the Hippodrome’s cinema supervisor and Falkirk archivist, Carly Manson, based at Callendar House. For copyright reasons, print articles aren’t reproduced or linked here.
The result: Falkirk’s venues showing up everywhere from BAFTA headlines to the nation’s favourite weekly magazine and giving people real reasons to visit.
