Our Cunningly Good Coverage Roundup
September 2026
September in numbers
September 2026 delivered 51 pieces of coverage for four of Cunningly Good Group’s clients, reaching a combined audience of 199 million and an estimated 1.81 million views. Online coverage was generated on sites with an average domain authority of 59, and social posts drew 796 likes, comments and shares.
Behind those numbers sit three very different stories:
- a life saved on a badminton court
- a new Dundee pub with live music at its heart
- a Scottish town that national travel writers think you’ve been overlooking
Our standout PR wins
Xcite: the story of the month.
On World Heart Day, 75-year-old Iain Muir was reunited with the Xcite Craigswood team who carried out CPR and used a defibrillator when he collapsed after badminton. Edinburgh Live ran the story, and its Threads post alone carried an estimated 742,000 views. It spread fast on Facebook too, through West Lothian News (336 engagements), West Lothian Council (196) and British Heart Foundation Scotland. A message about defibrillator access, carried by a real person, is exactly what earns shares.
Xcite Linlithgow also welcomed its MP for National Fitness Day, covered by Charity Today.
Malones Dundee: building a launch.
Ahead of its October opening in the former BrewDog on Panmure Street, Malones landed a steady run of stories. Dundee Culture secured an exclusive on the £250,000 refit. The Courier covered the call for local musicians, then followed with the licence approval, which The Herald also picked up. Urban Realm covered the venue’s design, and Tay FM’s Garry Spence show mentioned the opening twice. Bluesky posts from The Courier and the Evening Telegraph added further reach.
Falkirk: a town worth stopping for.
Travel writer Robin McKelvie gave The Herald six reasons to visit Falkirk, from The Kelpies to the Bo’ness Hippodrome. The Scotsman interviewed chocolatier Nadia Williams about her chocolate-and-film collaboration with the Hippodrome. Food writer TartanSpoon reviewed afternoon tea at Callendar House across her blog, TikTok and Facebook.
And in the Highlands, WePurpose took the top prize for Employer of the Year at the Highland Business Awards, reported by the Northern Times.
In print
The Xcite story made the front page of the West Lothian Courier and a full health feature in the Edinburgh Evening News. Malones appeared in The Courier, the Evening Telegraph and The List, while Falkirk earned a two-page travel spread in The Herald’s Weekend Magazine and a slot in The People’s Friend.
A strong month of media output from our cunningly good PR team, and a salient reminder that the best coverage starts with a real human story told well.
